WebGL for All

Being a broad introduction to WebGL, from low level code (in JavaScript and shaders in GLSL), through various libraries, frameworks and APIs, to WebGL as mark-up (no coding needed – full fat 3D for web designers).

I’ll cover why to use WebGL (access the unimaginable power of the GPU, I won’t mention the current state of Flash). With site demos and code aplenty showing real-world WebGL applications, I’ll run through some code examples covering raw WebGL and APIs (Three.js or Babylon.js).

This talk is aimed at anyone interested in JS, 2D, 3D or GPU programming in the browser.

A bizarre mix of nerd-geek-dweeb, I have over 15 years experience as a (desktop) software engineer (C#, C++ and VB).

After playing with WebGL for the last three years (and dabbling in JavaScript, HTML and CSS for many more) I’m the founder/organiser of the WebGL Workshop, co-ordinator of the Khronos London Chapter and a self-appointed WebGL evangelist.

Besides coding and teaching coding, I also love SF, comics, science, technology, maths, physics, and astronomy.
